The International Evening organised by Friends of park ,held on the 30th March 2011 raised a total and Incredible sum of £1157.The money will be used to support three children from very poor backgrounds to pay for their entire Secondary Education at the Kyambai Primary School in Kenya .

I was so delighted to see so many parents, families, past and present students, local Businessmen and Neighbours, teachers, and a variety of cultures in Traditional dress attend the event to make it such a great success.

Councillor Manji Kara also attended the event and within his speech quoted “The World is one BIG CLASSROOM, and by helping our classmates who are less fortunate than ourselves across the different countries it makes it an even better place to live in.

Esther Muoso’s speech gave us a feel of why it was so important to get these young bright students into secondary school education, which would in turn progress into professional careers, and also achieve their career goals. This would also enable them to make a difference within their Local Communities.

The evening started with a Welcome Free Buffet and continued with an amazing Cabaret performance by Mrs Wellighton, who entertained all present with some great songs and audience participation

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, past and present students, teachers, and Businesses listed below who contributed to a very grateful and needy cause, not forgetting a very generous donation for a Nights stay at the Mayfair Hotel in London.
