Mac Laubscher

On the 28th of October 2012, EXACTLY 7 weeks from today I will be Running my FIRST ever half marathon.

A year ago I survived a Heart Attack. I now have the opportunity to give back to an amazing Charity in our local area. Over the last year, St Luke’s has been leading in providing high quality Palliative care treatment to patients with advanced heart failure. I have been Lucky enough not to require their services, however many others are not. So to Celebrate Life and my health I thought it a great way to make a token gift of gratitude for the health I do have and remind myself, my friends and my community how lucky we all are.

Belmont Hall has fallen foul to some "keen gardeners" who have stolen all but 2 of the hanging baskets outside.

What a sad society we live in. We think it happened Friday night, if anyone seen anything or hears of baskets for sale please let us know.

Many thanks

From a Champion to a Legend

On 9th August 2012, Usain Bolt became a legend: the first man ever to win gold in both the 100m and 200m sprint events at consecutive Olympic games (2008 in Beijing and now 2012 in London).

And I was there. My photos of my visit to the Olympics, including meeting Chris Hoy (and a picture of my signed ticket) and watching Usain Bolt win the 200m.

Although it's not food or book related, I couldn't help but think you'd want to share the experience with me so below are my photos of the day. I hope you enjoy!
