HM The Queen Visits Harrow

HM The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were 2.7 miles from Belmont Circle today, visiting the Krishna Avanti Primary School.

 

The Crowds waited patiently for their brief glimpse of the Royals as the arrived and then gracefully departed. We spotted an elder gentlemen climbing a nearby tree to get a better view.

'How to guides' star the unsung heroes of Harrow

VOLUNTEERS from all walks of life are the stars of a new ‘how to’ film guide.

There are 10 how to film guides, starring the unsung heroes of Harrow, which were premiered by the council at the Civic Centre on Wednesday last week in a cinema-style setting, complete with popcorn and lots of applause.

Mac Laubscher, from Belmont Circle Community Group, gave tips on how to organise a street part in the film, and said he has been organising events and street parties to bring his community together?

2012 is most definitely the year to hold a street party! With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics there are lots of reasons to celebrate. The Belmont Circle community group are renowned for their street parties, and Mac, a volunteer from the group, gave us his top tips for organising a successful street party.
